Motovun
In the heart of the Istrian peninsula lies one of the most beautiful and quaint little towns... Motovun. From its location on the top of a hill, you will see a magnificent view of the Mirna River Valley, vast rows of vineyards, and the famous Motovun forest, rich in the widely renowned white truffles. The layout of the town is oval in shape, and you will find well preserved city walls dating from the Middle Ages, the city palace, the town lodges, and the parish church of St. Stephen.
Strolling down the cobble stoned streets, your mind takes you back to the days of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Baroque period of history. Many of the buildings and palaces bear familial coats of arms.

Well-known citizens of Motovun were Andrea Antico, a famous Renaissance composer, Josef Ressel, the inventor of the ship screw, Mario Andretti, the legendary race car driver and the Formula 1 world champion in 1978 as well as the winner of the "Indianapolis 500".
Due to its location, hardworking and hospitable people, mild climate and unforgettable Istrian landscape, Motovun is a town worth coming back to because of its magical attraction - you are allowed to be enchanted.
